About xxxHOLiC Rei Manga Volume 3

xxxHOLiC Rei Volume 3 features story and art by CLAMP.

Since returning to his roots working for Yuko alongside Domeki, Watanuki has been plagued by a sense of deja vu, and upon receiving another visitor with a tale of exchanged coins and a chance encounter with a familiar bird cage, everything falls into place. A conclusion that makes sense, as much as this universe does anyways.

This arc concludes for the moment, but the overall ending is a bit disjointed. I know that this was released with another extension of the Tsubasa manga, but the original Xxxholic felt more self contained.

With that bit of complaining out of the way, they do provide an explanation to the arc that makes sense for cannon. It shows some interesting ideas that makes the whole thing come together. All in all, its and ending that is mostly satisfying, but feels kind of forced, you know?
