From Hirohiko Araki, established mangaka known for his thirty-five-year-long series JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, comes the latest of the series' storylines to receive a hardcover English print. With complex battle scenes, a wealth of interesting characters, and the bizarre plot that inflicts every storyline in the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure universe, Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe Manga Volume 1 features every element of the universe of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure that the expansive fanbase has come to know and love.

Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe Manga Volume 1 is a spin-off manga series taking place after the events of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable. Featuring the prolific mangaka, Rohan Kishibe, this story recalls the mangaka's most bizarre experiences in his endless search for inspiration. Like many others within the universe, Rohan possesses a "stand" power, which allows for dynamic fights between him and his foes. Rohan can turn anyone into a book, allowing him to read their thoughts, memories, and experiences, as well as write commands and fabricate memories. From revengeful bags of corn to familial spirits, this collection of short stories features a large variety of settings and characters.

Building off of an incredibly successful franchise, Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe Manga Volume 1 is no different from its predecessors: it features recurring characters and power systems while keeping the story and genre fresh. The artwork of Hirohiko Araki is masterfully executed, and the ridiculousness of every scenario is borderline comical. While this volume shines in regard to characters, power systems, action, and art, the fights can become complicated, with the plot being hard to follow. What this volume lacks in coherence, it makes up for in sheer enjoyability. The tense fights and the well-written characters create an entertaining experience for anyone who picks up this novel, even without knowledge of the rest of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure franchise.

From the hardcover volume's vibrant display of the artwork of Hirohiko Araki to the wonderful bizarre-ness of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure franchise, Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe Manga Volume 1 is a must-have for fans of action, the supernatural, detailed artwork, and the bizarre.
