Kingdom Hearts III Novel Vol 1 Review

-Written by: Jakob M

Kingdom Hearts III The Novel Vol 1 is the first part of the video game Kingdom Hearts III in book form. It also covers the story of Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth by Sleep - A Fragmentary Passage, another game in the series. The story follows the adventures of Sora, Donald, and Goofy through several worlds. Some of these worlds are familiar Disney worlds like Olympus from Hercules, and others are original worlds that return from previous entries in the series. Though this is formally numbered as the third game, it is actually the twelfth game in the series due to the numerous spin-off titles that all have essential information for fully understanding the story. Needless to say, a reader new to the series will be completely lost in this book. The novel expects the reader to be familiar with the terms present throughout previous entries, such as the Heartless, which are one of the many types of foes present. The dialogue is word for word, exactly the same as the game. Gameplay segments are usually summed up in a few sentences, before getting back to the dialogue. I’d recommend this if you’re a diehard fan that wants to collect the story in all its forms or if you’re mostly up to date on the series but don’t have the time to play Kingdom Hearts III.

Kingdom Hearts III Novel Volume 1

After losing his strength in the Mark of Mastery exam, Sora sets out on another quest with Donald and Goofy to find the Power of Waking before the final clash with Master Xehanort. Meanwhile, Riku journeys into the realm of darkness to find Aqua, beginning the search for the rest of the seven guardians of light, and Kairi and Lea continue their training. The final chapter of the Dark Seeker Saga is about to begin!
