Meals from the Heartland is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that engages volunteers to package meals for food insecure people around the globe, across the United States and right where we're located in Central Iowa. This year they will package over 21 million meals! Each meal costs .20 and all ingredients are purchased with charitable contributions to the organization. Meals are packaged at their packaging center Tuesday through Saturday and also through mobile events and private packaging events. We plan to send a couple of teams of volunteers to package meals in the coming months and help out not just with a donation, but by getting to be part of the process of such a great cause.
