Imagine a protagonist with ninja powers and a level head, unlike the younger version Naruto; lives in a world where spirits and demons exist, similar to Bleach; and has the ability to speak with animals. This is exactly the type of person our protagonist is, despite his somewhat rebellious personality.
Our story begins following Jiro Azuma, an average 17 year old that happens to be able to speak with animals. Although I have doubts that he would openly admit to it, he deeply cares about each of the animals he’s come into contact with, even if it’s brief. His passion for animals leads him to meet a small black cat named Rago. Jiro has no idea that this fateful encounter will lead to his world turning upside-down.
It turns out, Rago is an extremely powerful mononoke that’s being hunted down by several organizations for several morally grey reasons. In order to protect his own hide, and to repay a debt, Rago ends up binding himself to Jiro. Once the organizations that are hunting Rago down realize that a boy with ninja heritage has been brought into this secret world of vengeful mononoke, our story begins and Jiro’s ‘average life’ with his grandfather ends.
Sounds interesting, right? Please, please, please pick up a copy today from us and fall in love with this title like I did. I’m a sucker for animals, and a shounen title heavily influenced with animal companions is something I had to share. Follow Jiro and Rago as they learn more about this hidden world of the mononoke and the war behind closed doors today!
Jiro Azuma is descended from of a long line of ninja, and he also can talk to animals. Although he may appear rough-and-tumble, Jiro Azuma’s compassionate side emerges when it comes to the furry critters he can communicate with. But Jiro's soft spot for animals gets him in major trouble when a suspicious stray cat fuses with him, granting him exceptional power but also dragging him into humanity's hidden battle against powerful demons.Add to CartLearn More
