The Strange Creature Kuroyuri Apartments is a manga with a good combination of cute characters, witty writing and a slight lewd plot line. Also, it’s super funny for its direct writing style. The manga is similar to comedy titles like The Devil is a Part Timer or The Time I Got Reincarnated in to Slime. Setting aside the comparison to other titles, I would highly suggest taking a chance on this title for its refreshing take on awkward friendships. Here’s a small look about this story!
It’s not easy being the daughter of a demon clan leader when your parent has high expectations on you. Meet Meme, an adorable summoner, whose capability to summon anything is below average under her demon father’s eyes. Meme has the talent to become a great summoner but her laziness overtakes her motivation to work harder on her abilities. Seeing her careless attitude, her father banishes her to earth in hopes this will finally give Meme the encouragement she needs to become a great summoner. After a quick banishing magic spell, she suddenly appears on earth. After walking around aimlessly to find shelter, she finally sees a free rent sign and ends up living with an attractive rich bachelor named Sentarou Narigane.
Fortunately for Meme, Sentarou is not only wealthy but also the ultimate baller. In a blink of an eye, the guy can purchase businesses and own practically everything in the city. Because money doesn’t buy happiness, he offers Meme to live with him so she can keep him entertained. As Meme is trying to figure out her life on earth, he teaches some #adulting responsibilities such as learning how to bath, dealing with other insane tenants, and standing up to her demanding father. Their friendship reminds me of a typical TV troupe where two unlikely lead characters end up living together with adventures thrown at them. If you decide to pick up this title, you will get a mixture of drama, entertaining, slight lewd chapters. As mentioned before, the two have to deal with complicated tenants like a sexy maid that lives underneath the floor boards. Or my favorite tenant is the crazy woman who has a love obsession with Sentarou, in which Meme gives her a tramp nickname. These lead two characters are in it together for good because when the second volume comes out, I’m hoping to read and laugh at more roommate problems.
