I’ll be the first to admit that Saki the Succubus Hungers Tonight was a little bit more...ahem, graphic, than I was originally expecting. While this is not necessarily a bad thing, I went in expecting a little bit more romance. In this first volume, there is very little “romance” to be found.
This is Ghost Ship’s latest venture into more adult-oriented titles. There are parts of this that barely squeak by on it’s 17+ rating and only do so by the use of strategic blurring. Saki is a brand new succubus who thrives off of the “lust” of the men she seduces. When she finds herself suddenly becoming roommates with a lazy, 30-something virgin, hijinks ensue.
I’m not unfamiliar with ecchi, but this was my first real foray into the genre, and it was a fun read. Though filled to the brim with cliches, there is something charming about watching Saki try to deal with the chaos of controlling her powers amongst dealing with her meddling sister and new roommate. I hope I am proven wrong in the future and a genuine romance blossoms between our two main characters. However, volume one cranked the sexiness up to 100 and I’m not sure where else there is to go from here..
All things considered, Saki is a super cute, entertaining character that fans of the genre will definitely enjoy.
Saki-chan is a beautiful young woman and just a little naive. She may seem harmless as she wanders the streets, but beware—she’s a brand-new succubus who thrives on the lust of men! She’s just…not very good at it yet. When she finds herself with an opportunity to move in with a 30-something man who’s never slept with a woman before, she takes it, just like she’ll take him!Add to CartLearn More
