Welcome back to the world of My Hero Academia, where having a super power, or quirk, is part of a normal society. Only this time, instead of following Deku, Bakugo, and the rest of the gang, we follow a new trio of characters with their own stories and situations. New quirks and new villains all come together in this spinoff series!
This series follows Koichi, a nineteen-year-old college student who, like Deku in the original series, wants to become a hero. But unfortunately for our main protagonist, he doesn’t have the quirk qualified for the job! Instead Koichi goes around the city wearing an All Might hoodie doing good deeds for the citizens of the city and goes by the nickname “Nice Guy.” Then enters Pop Step, a freelance idol who performs around the streets. The last of the trio is Knuckleduster, a street thug who fights villains for justice. Together these three unlikely heroes face a new threat that spreads all over the city, but do they have what it takes to face this threat, on top of avoiding being caught by the police for unlicensed, illegal hero actions?
Being already a fan of the original My Hero Academia series, I thoroughly enjoyed this first volume of this spinoff series. It asked questions that made me think of myself. What if Deku never met All Might? What if All Might wasn’t the symbol of peace? If you’re a fan of My Hero Academia, do not miss out on this amazing spinoff manga!
In a superpowered society, there is nothing ordinary about evil anymore. Heroes, trained and licensed to protect and defend the public against supervillains, stand above all the rest. However, not everyone can be an official hero, and there are those who would use their powers to serve the people without legal sanction. But do they fight for justice in the shadows or for reasons known only to themselves? Whatever they fight for, they are called…vigilantes. Koichi Haimawari couldn’t make the cut to become an official hero, so he uses his modest Quirk to do good deeds in his spare time. Then one day, a fateful encounter with some local thugs leads him to team up with two other unlikely heroes. None of them really know what they’re doing, but they’ve got the courage—or foolishness—to try. But they soon discover fighting evil takes more than just being brave…Add to CartLearn More
