My Hero Academia School Briefs Volume 1 follows Deku and his fellow classmates as they navigate the U.A. High School Hero Course. I was hoping to gain a different perspective into each of the characters from the anime, but, my expectations for this novel fell short. It is a retelling of the anime and in speaking with other individuals, it is a written novel version of the manga.
Although this story didn’t live up to my expectations, there are some good things to note. The few drawings in the book are excellent. The writing is superb from the description of the characters, and fighting scenes. Reading this novel was easy to follow. This novel would be perfect for someone new to the My Hero Academia series. For the My Hero Academia fan, the funny epilogue story of Parent’s Day and the few good points I mentioned above are worth to check out.
Will, I read the next novels? I'll pass. I'm fine with watching the anime. Don't get me wrong, reading this novel wasn't a total waste of my time because now, I am interested in the manga series! My Hero Academia Manga Volume 1 is added into my Rightstuf Anime cart!
