Anime & OST are the BEST!!!

If you love boys and ice skating, you'll love this anime. It's fun with a good story line. An anime that shows hard work pays. Not to forget the sound track is wonderful!

Born to Make History!!!

I have been waiting for the US release of this show forever and I am so psyched that it’s finally here! Thank you RightStuf for not only, giving fans the opportunity to preorder this item and receive it before anyone else but also, for offering the lowest price on the market. This show is charming, heartwarming and visually stunning. An emotional roll coaster from start to finish that will completely captivate you. Show creator, Mitsurō Kubo, has undeniably succeeded in her attempt to show us a world free of discrimination, where love is love. I believe this show has earned its place in anime history and rightly deserves all the praise and attention that it has received. Truly “Born to Make History” both on and off the ice.

Yuri!!! On ICE Blu-Ray/DVD

Purchased this in 2018. I’m not really into sports anime.

Overall I really enjoyed this show. Opening/closing songs were great. Songs throughout the series (skating scenes) were ok not as attention grabbing as the intro/closing.

Artwork & story was great and appealing though reused animation got redundant. Did wish there was a bit more to the shounen ai/BL angle since it was hinted at but fell flat. Would love a 2nd season or more drawn out series to go in-depth of other characters & backstories even filling the absent storyline that were shown (romantic or competitions). Character development feels a bit rushed.

This show isn’t for everyone. Like many shows it has flaws. Seems like a slice of life not set in high school but a “mature professional” setting with an athletes growing self-improvement.

Subtitles during dub???

I borrowed this show from a friend. I heard about it, but wanted to see it in English. I liked the show.

My complaint is Funimation has dropped the ball when it comes to sound options. The bluray does not have a function for subs during English play!

This is unacceptable. One of my friends is hard of hearing and has to have the sound blasting sometimes. at other peoples' houses it's not always possible. Subs during the English play lets her enjoy the show and catch anything she missed like with a heavy accent.

When the option isn't available, I have problems understanding accents or heated arguments especially when they speak fast.

I would like subs available not just with the Japanese. Everyone should have the option for subs for either tracks. I get tired of Japanese subs all the time.

I don't care if the subs don't match. I like seeing the differences too.

It feels a bit discriminatory.

Everything was great! I got this for Christmas only thing wrong was the disc werent in the clips to hold them in the case.

A solid routine

As someone who grew up very invested in watching figure skating in the 80s-90s, I am seriously impressed by the animation of figure skating here. It manages to rather accurately replicate the experience of watching figure skating both appreciatively and critically. And I learned things, which is always good.
I know all the play out there is this as a BL title, but I actually have to say that I think it's really something how if you reeeaaally wanted to, you DO have the option of viewing it without paying that angle any mind. If you want this to be a BL title, it's a great time! If you want this to be a sports anime, it's remarkably solid! If you're just watching a series cold, this is still well put together! There's good characters, good bylines, good sport, and it doesn't get too heavy in any one area. It's just cheesy and earnest and real and absurd enough to pass for just about anybody.
