Expect the Unexpected
by FRED -
Since I had been ordering each of the previous volumes on a monthly basis, the series as a whole became sort of an epic adventure for me, spanning nearly a year. Needless to say, right up until Volume 11, I'd come to expect a certain outcome as nothing less than a foregone conclusion. However, I found in this the last in the series much that was not expected, nor would've been suspected even. Without giving anything away, I would consider the conclusion to the story to be one of gentleness than of sadness. Admittedly, there was a watery solution getting in my eyes and making it hard to follow both text and graphics right up to the last page. Coupled with that, a kind of longing left unfulfilled, at least on a superficial level (shame on me). But now, I have to gratefully commend the author for having convinced me to set aside my expectations while graciously offering something much more eloquent and thoughtful in its place. And isn't that what life and love is all about?
