A lacking and unsatisfactory end.

It is important to note that the one star is NOT for the series as a whole. But rather for the ending. It's something that unfortunately happens a decent amount in manga and anime. Where we're lucky enough to have a great and engaging story (not that there aren't any imperfections or things to be nitpicked), but at the end it completely drops off and dies. No after story. No resolution to any of the romance. You're left with a....."That's it?". With how much work went into the manga, especially the characters...to have it end like it did? It feels cheap, indecisive, like a cop out. Bitterly disappointing.
