Ratings & Reviews
Yamibo: Good series, flubs the ending.
by Shannon -
Yamibo is a absolutely gorgeous series about a woman travelling the multiverse seeking her beloved.
The character designs are lovely, the animation quality is high and it maintains a good mix of serious and humor. My only complaint is that I didn't like the ending. But heh, you can ignore that and write fanfiction or something.
Not Bad but not Good.

First off this is a DVD-R and in places the quality of the picture is less than good. A multi-world fantasy with a somewhat confused story line, where it seems no one is really directing the story just going with what they please. The ending is OK but because of how it is done a lot of episode 13 is repeat story slightly varied. I might have been kinder had I not had to wait so long on the item - I ordered it Oct 13. At best it is a watchable time filler.
Bad Release Not Worth Waiting For

This set is not on pressed DVD discs. Beyond concerns with storage environment and long term playability, this release of Yamibo also has compatibility problems. I could not use the discs on any of the devices in my home. So it really depends what player(s) you have if you won’t experience the same. I wish I could give better guidance. As of writing this Media Blasters has yet to address the issues. I’m very disappointed after the long wait for an R1 legal release.
Good Yuri, Bad Dvd pressing!

First off, this release can only be watched on a computer which is annoying since i watch movies primarily on playstation consoles. I've never had a problem with any other Manga Entertainment or Anime Works release so i don't what happened with this. It also doesn't seem like it's ever going to be resolved so buyer beware.
That aside i found this to be fun and titillating but lacking solid direction. The story is presented anachronistically at times. Hazuki is on a quest to find her sister love interest which is accomplished through traveling from one world to the next via books. Think if the multiverse were accessible through a library. She is with Lilith a mysterious bookkeeper who is infatuated with her from love at first sight. If you have any confusion on the story you could read the wikipedia page (Obviously not a good endorsement). I also really liked the opening song. So if your really into yuri and needing fan service and out of other shows to watch i'd say pick this up.
Won't play correctly.
I love the series but this release was subpar-I couldn't get the discs to play on any of my dvd players-they would play on my Panasonic bluray player and my computer but nothing else. When they burned the recordable discs something must have gone wrong. Bad news all around.
