Sexy, but shallow (even though that's not a bad thing).

Yakuza Lover is a guilty pleasure, wish-fulfillment piece of fiction. The plot is thread-bare and the art (particularly the faces) is a bit wonky in places, but that's not why you read it. You read it for the fantasy of a strong, yet compassionate Yakuza who is absolutely head over heels in love with his partner and this volume continues to deliver on that front. It is titillating when it needs to be and brisk so that it never drags on. I always enjoy reading this series even if it's the literary equivalent of eating a packaged snack cake.
