About Welcome to the NHK Novel

The novel Welcome to the NHK is written by Tatsuhiko Takimoto.

Welcome to the NHK Novel follows a twenty-two-year-old college dropout and aficionado of anime porn, named Satou. And Satou thinks he knows a little secret! Believe it or not, he has stumbled upon an incredible conspiracy created by the Japanese Broadcasting Company, N.H.K. But despite fighting the good fight, Satou has become an unemployed hikikomori - a shut-in who has withdrawn from the world, until he meets Misaki, a mysterious young girl who invites him to join her special "project." Slowly, Satou comes out of his reclusive shell, and the hilarious journey of mistaken identity, Lolita complexes, and an ultimate quest to create the greatest hentai game ever, begins.

Welcome to the Novel that started it all

An important prerequisite to reading the manga and watching the anime, Tatsuhiko Takimoto's light novel Welcome to the NHK is a definite worth read. Take the opportunity to relive the story with minor differences and even challenge yourself to see the characters differently from the anime and manga. If you've neither seen the anime nor read the manga, I still recommend reading this tremendous light novel, full of dark comedy. As I' searched far and wide, the best deal for this product was here at Right Stuf Anime.

Welcome to Reality

Welcome to the NHK is in my top 5 gem list. Its a story that cannot be matched if you are interested in a very weird, yet brilliant mix of comedy and depression. Dark, perverted, psycho, hilarious, and a wake-up call for many who come across this novel. Follow a 22-year old shut-in who has given up all hope at fitting in with society, his struggle against what he believes to be a conspiracy group called the N.H.K., and his attempt to slowly regain his humanity thanks to a mysterious girl he met through fate. I highly recommend the manga as well as the anime, as all three are absolute gold.

You gotta read this!!

Welcome to the NHK is the best thing. You will not regret it. Read the novel and watch the animu and if you feel hot and spicy you can also read the manga.

YOU NEED TO READ THIS NOVEL!!!!

The Welcome to the NHK novel is really a must have. This will definitely be worth both your time and money. The about section pretty much tells it all. This story has both been adapted to a manga and an anime which are just as fantastic as this novel. Those are just as worth checking out as this novel.

Fans of the anime will love it.

If you like the anime you should like the novel too. Personally, I think the story is really about Satou's mental illness and Misaki's effect on him (and not so much about all the stuff mentioned in the blurb). The big differences between the novel and anime are the novel's lack of long, drawn-out side stories like the MMORPG and the pyramid scheme . Also, Satou bails on the gal game early in the novel, and his sempai only plays a minor role.

The novel does have Satou using hallucinogens, and this seems to be what makes the appliances talk (not paranoid conspiracy thinking).
