Vinland Saga Volume 7 features story and art by Makoto Yukimura in this hardcover edition.

His army starving for resources, King Canute schemes to confiscate Ketil’s farm. Ketil and his sons become fugitives, barely escaping the capital aboard Leif Ericson’s ship, but Canute follows in pursuit with his best men. Upon Ketil’s return, he finds his beloved slave Arnheid has helped her former husband, a runaway who has killed many of Ketil’s bodyguards, escape. Beset by betrayal on all sides, there may be no way out for Ketil, but Thorfinn finally has his freedom. Yet, the son of Thors feels bound to Denmark by his unfinished business with Canute…

Favorite so far in the Series

Having stayed with the series throughout, and having gone through some characters, that I loved growing with and hated when they were cut down...this volume, has to be my favorite in the series, thus far.

We see redemption with our main character, Thorfinn and his final turn around as he attempts to make peace (I won't spoil any of it) and the saddest death I have yet to encounter in the series.

I will keep with this series as it only gets better and better (this discussion between the slave and the King is great! and shows the different views of the world and how they plan on creating theirs).

Highly recommend the series, of course, start with Volume 1 to get the best out of this series!

Aaaand we're back!

Oh, yes! That felt good! Some great things happen in this volume. We get the conclusion to the threat on Ketil's farm, Thorfinn regains a real purpose and direction for his life, and he proves that he can still be awesome while being a pacifist. There's a fantastic confrontation between Thorfinn and Canute, and we're finally making progress towards the namesake of the series: Vinland. Oh, there are great things on the horizon!
