Classic action harem from the early 2000s

Vandread sets itself apart from many other harem anime by not only packing a good story, but also a conclusive ending. Conclusive ending in a harem anime? Shocking indeed, but it is true.

The story isn't revolutionary, one might say it's even by the numbers, but it is executed well enough to be entertaining. Set in futuristic space, men and women live on different planets and are at war with each other, until various circumstances lead our protagonist into a rebel ship - piloted by all women. Hi-jinks ensue.

Though it seems like like just fan-service, Vandread actually has decent plot and character development for its many male and female characters throughout 26 episodes. The space battles are CGI, while dated, as passable as they are mostly isolated in space.

The set also comes with 2 recap movies of the 2 seasons with a little bit of new footage. These are not worth watching for extra content, but are a nice bonus for future rewatch if you enjoy the series.

When men are from mars and women are from venus

Yes it is a gender funny anime that will make you want to laugh about boys and girls. I had the original series but, it is all worn out from watching it with friend many times. I guess I will need to get another copy again of this series. Anyway very well worth the entertainment.

Very, very disappointed.

No change from the initial DVD release. That means this is low-quality, and despite being widescreen is presented in 4:3. I don't mean it's cropped - I mean it's got black bars at the top and bottom, so the image sits there in the middle of the screen, taking up maybe half the size.

This is practically a slap in the face. Vandread is one of my favorite series, but it looks like I'll never actually be able to see it with a good picture quality. Would not recommend the purchase.
