About Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust Blu-ray

In Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, Baron Meier Link is of a dying race - but the vampire doesn't intend to remain lonely much longer. Abducting women in the night is common for his kind, so what's one more? But Charlotte's father has plenty of money, and there's no price he won't pay to get his daughter back. That's why he hires D.

D is a Dunpeal, a breed rarer than that of the vampires - after all, he's half of one. When it comes to hunting those with fangs like his own, he's the best in the business. But that doesn't mean he's the only game in town. The Markus Brothers are on the vampire's trail as well, and they're not about to lose. It's a race, not only between the rival Hunters, but for the vampire and his bride-to-be. But it might be more than just a job to D. Is Charlotte really a captive? Or will another Dunpeal be born to this world?

Great Movie

by -

This is one of my favorite movies. I loved the original. And this stays true to that. The animation is amazing, the fight scenes are awesome. And D he's still the same. If you like that old style anime, this reminds me a lot of it, just modernized. But you can see features in the animation that seems old style anime. And if you have not seen the first Movie. I recommend it, it's a cult classic!

Why have you not seen this movie yet? Its a classic. The animation still holds up today and has great effects and fight scenes . The characters are....well they are okay. The story is about a half breed vampire that has to hunt down and rescue a girl while competing hunters do the same. it asks some decent questions along the way. Honestly I might not make it sound that good but you just need to watch it so pick it up and give it a view if for no other reason then to say you have seen it.

A beautifully haunting film

I saw this movie many years ago, and really liked it. I just re-watched it and liked it even more. This is totally a film worth your time.
It's about an Dampeal named D, he's half human and half vampire. He's a bounty hunter, and is hired to find the daughter who was kidnapped by a vampire. I love our main character, and found this film so engrossing.
I highly recommend this film! And I thank Discotek for giving it such a lovely bluray release. It's gorgeous in high definition.

The Hunt Is Always On

by -

Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust has stood the test of time as one of anime's great action movies. But it's also much more: a simple but memorable storyline filled with haunting interludes and unexpected complexity, an atmospheric road trip across a fantastical series of landscapes, and an introduction to one of anime's greatest 'strong and mostly-silent' action heroes, the half-vampire warrior D who hunts his own kind for his own reasons. Writer/Director Yoshiaki Kawajiri (Ninja Scroll) is in absolute top form with this film, which is arguably his best. And spectacular hand-drawn and painted animation from Madhouse, from the iconic character designs by Yoshitaka Amano and Yutaka Minowa to the dazzling action scenes and beautiful backgrounds, makes this one of the great visual treats of the late cel-era; they simply don't make anime like this anymore. This is a movie that's equally-terrific for those new to anime and for veteran fans; simply put, it's a film every action fan should own.

Great Product!

I bought this as a gift - and, as always, the packaging kept the item in perfect condition. The slip cover of the Blu-Ray makes for a nice added touch. There is only an English Dub provided, but I knew that when I bought the product, therefore it doesn't affect the five star rating. It's a wonderful classic and I would recommend this product to everyone who is considering purchasing it - you won't be disappointed. RightStuf always exceeds my expectations.

Good Sequel To The Originial

This is actually quite a bit better than the original-the story is no where near as cheesy and it flows better. I've actually heard it in japanese and the english dub is way better. And by all means get this on bluray, dvd doesn't do it justice.
