About Utawarerumono DVD Complete Series SAVE Edition

Utawarerumono complete series set contains episodes 1-26 of the anime directed by Tomoki Kobayashi.

Everything about him is shrouded in mystery. The mask he can't remove. The past he can't unravel. And the very survival of the people who have chosen him as their leader. But what Hakuoro does know is this: he was gravely injured and left for dead in a forest. A kind, young girl named Eluluu found him and nursed him back to health. And he was welcomed into a barren land where strange creatures roam, an angry god seeks vengeance, an oppressive government slaughters the innocent, and a bloody war looms on the horizon.

Will the masked hero liberate the people who saved him? Can he unlock the memories that elude him? Or will he remain a stranger even to himself? The answers are right before you (or are they?).

A bit slow, but good story

If you like series like 12 Kingdoms and The Story of Saiunkoku then you'll probably like this series. It has the politics and nation building that I enjoy, with the action that comes with fighting wars.

The story telling is solid if a bit slow paced, and the Japanese and English casts are great. The opening theme will get stuck in your head as well.

Good Price for a Great Anime

I ended up watching this after seeing the sequel first and I have to say that this is a very enjoyable anime. I ended up binge watching it over the course of 2-3 days so it was able to keep my interest very well. I think the story pacing was done very well for a 26 episode anime and also gives hints about the past of the character at just the right times to keep it interesting.

Highly recommended

Excellent series and a must watch if you plan on understanding anything of the follow up sequels. I have the original ADV release and not Funimations. This was out of print for awhile and now to see it as a Save set is even better.
