About Uta no Prince-sama Season 1 1000% Blu-ray

Uta no Prince-sama 1000% (Season 1) collection contains episodes 1-13 which was directed by Yuu Kou.

When Haruka gets the chance to take the entrance exam for Saotome Academy for the Performing Arts, it seems as though she's one step closer to her dream of composing songs for her favorite singer, Hayato. However, this is no gleeful high school musical experience, and Haruka's hiding a dreadful secret that may silence her musical ambitions forever.

Even if she does get into Saotome, the competition will be more brutal than going on Japan's Top Idol! That's because, as a writer, Haruka could be paired with any one of six radically different male singers. Will it be upbeat Otoya, serious Masato, flirtatious Ren, split-personality Natsuki, optimistic Syo, or the unapproachable Tokiya, who's rumored to be Hayato's brother?

Just to make things more complicated and awkward, writers and singers are expressly NOT allowed to get romantically involved! Can one girl and six handsome young men learn to make beautiful music together in a strictly platonic sense? They can if the oddball staff of Saotome, most of whom are current and former idols themselves, have anything to say about it!

One Word-Horrible!!

What a waste of money, bad story ridden with cliches, characters are strictly 2 dimensional card board cutouts. Don't waste your money on this.

All the characters go to a music academy to pursue their dreams on becoming stars. Haruka ( the main protagonist ), and helps them achieve their goals. Each character has their own background story, and own reason on why they are where they are at. It is classified as a harem anime ( one girl, surrounded by several good looking guys with hardly any interaction with other characters ). I enjoyed the music, the characters styles, and the development of the characters. However, please remember that is based off a dating sims video game, so there isn't much of a pow! for a story line. Each episode is just about that character and what motivates them, it isn't until season 2 when it gets a little more in depth, and season 3 ( which is on crunchyroll now ), is where they start to branch out for other things. Also, each episode has a song specifically for that character as well. The music is just really good and fun to listen too. I especially love the ending song for season 2.

If you love guy harems and cliches...

Having watch many anime since I was a small child, I can say that the art is fantastic. In general, if you love looking at good-looking guys with no real story behind it then this is for you. I think that's what I mainly liked about it, it was filled with a ton of cliches, so nothing very special besides all the wonderful vocals. I liked it in general though. There is also a game that you can play for this! Woo Otome games, that I haven't played.

Solid Pick-me-up

I love this series as a light-hearted pick-me-up! It's based on an otome game and does a good job portraying the guys falling for Nanami, as well as that rivalry between them over her without creating a canon pairing. The music is, of course, a focus of the show, and it's AWESOME!
Plus, I mean, blu-ray quality bishounen? Can't complain! ;)
