Ultimate UFO: Ultimately LAME

by

I have seen a lot of jack-legged UFO productions in my time, but this one is right down there at the bottom of the barrel. 'Ultimate UFO' should come with a warning label: 'May induce grogginess and/or anxiety.' I watched the entire 338 minute DVD set (Five-and-a-half hours, which could have easily been condensed into a much more watchable 1 hour program), and was quite annoyed with three aspects of the presentation: 1.) The 'musical' soundtrack is horrendous, a whining electronic dirge; 2.) There are TYPOS in the on-screen text; and 3.) Most of the film and video clips are the worst copies available, and are instant-replayed two, three and four times for emphasis. If you took out the instant replays, you'd only have a 2-hour collection of really bad clips. Beyond all this, the clips are poorly identified, when they are identified. And where are the MAJOR sightings that we all know and love? Nowhere to be found in 'Ultimate UFO,' I can assure you. The only positive thing I can say about it is that, mercifully, they didn't try to narrate the thing. This is five-and-a-half hours out of your life that you'll never get back... Yes, you CAN find something better to do.
