Get it before it's gone!!

Tomie was last published in 2006, this being said I've been waiting for YEARS to get myself a copy of my favorite demented undead, sucubus. When it was published it didn't even have its own books (in English anyway), it was published in Junji Ito's, 'Museum of Terrors' and has trippled in value since then; if you wanted a copy the first volume alone could be found for 45 dollars MINIMUM. So this is an awesome price, insanely good! Finding out this came out as an omnibus was a godsend! So buy yours now before it's too late! Who knows how much this will be if you wait 2 years? Or how long it'll be before gets published again? (It's 29 years old this year!) Thank you Rightstuf!♡
Great Author, Great book

I have recently started reading the works of Junji Ito and I love all I've read so far, and Tomie is no exception, I'm still in the middle of Tomie, but what I've read so far is great.
Horror that never dies

Ok, this may sound odd, but as a manga lover I appreciate the different textures covers have. Saying that, Tomie has one of the most velvety covers ever. Perfect for a succubus, right? Makes for a very nice tactile experience.
All that aside, I am just dipping my toes into the world of Junji Ito and found Tomie to be an engrossing read. Even when some of the illustrations became disturbing, you still have to respect the manga-ka's skill. A very nice edition, all told, and a great horror "binge" read.
No use escaping...

Ah, Tomie, one of the most famous girls in all of manga. The first chapter is pretty rough to look at, and very hard to follow, but the art evolution in the first three chapters alone is incredible. Junji Ito draws her so attractively that the premise of her bewitching beauty driving men to violent insanity is absolutely believable, even without the unexplained curse. There's not much plot in it; there are only 2 or 3 connecting storylines. The rest are mostly singular stories. There's no real conclusion; I think Ito was more concerned about making Tomie take every form and concoct every torture possible. Horror is most effective as an anthology, but it would've been more interesting to see as a linear story that showed the beginning and (possible) end of Tomie. His other works are more visually intense; this one is played more for psychological horror than visual.
1 star off because there's no real conclusion, not much linearity, and because my cover (yes, the hard cover) came bent.
Absolutely Brilliant.

Imagine if you took an anime waifu, and combined her with the creature from "The Thing," Dracula, and a pinch of the chick from "The Ring," and you'd have Tomie. She's a being of pure evil, capable of bending the minds of nearly any man (and even some women) to her will. Once bewitched, they are forever deranged and will commit all manner of heinous acts, up to and including destroying their lives and killing themselves, but often not before killing Tomie as well.
The stories within are well paced and beautifully illustrated, and the veil of mystery surrounding Tomie is, thankfully, never broken. She's nightmare fuel in waifu form.
This is Junji Ito at his best.

I just love the artwork and the creepy stories! Junji Ito truly is a great artist and story teller. Tomie is a fantastic read that definitely makes you feel feelings of creepiness and sadness and shock. A great storyteller elicited these feelings and Junji Ito blows it out of the water! I really appreciate the first pages being in color and the drawing of nude Tomie. Throughout this manga the artwork is just brilliant. I would recommend this highly because it was most certainly a creepy read for me and I just really enjoyed the art. The product itself was delivered in beautiful condition, classic rightstuf always packaging things as every manga collector dreams of!
