Not Your Typical Manga

by -

Boilet crafts a touching personal tale of a Frenchman's life in Tokyo during the mid-1990s. This semi-autobiographical work is far beyond the scope of most traditional manga and has crafted its own personal niche in the comics world. Boilet brings in the influence of French comics and is able to develop a unqiue narrative coupled with his crisp realistic drawings. With the addition of Benoit Peters doing some of the story and Jiro Taniguchi adding the grey tones this manga immediately drew my eye. And for so cheap its absolutely worth picking up.
