Worth the price!

I bought this set not too long ago (mid to late October) and I love it! To start off I have to complement the Mangaka “Sui Ishida”, his art work is amazing. He makes the manga come to life as if you are Kanaki or any other character. By far one of my all time favorite manga series! The second thing I would like to talk about is what’s included the items included in the box were Tokyo Ghoul RE: volumes 1-16, and an exclusive poster. I thought the poster was a nice addition to the box, of course still with “Sui Ishida’s” artwork! Finally I want to talk about the Mangaka and the story line. The reason I quoted Sui Ishida’s name so far is be “Sui Ishida” is a fake name, like a kind of mystery that he/she is trying to find themselves and who they are, and I think this perfectly correlates with the main character in his books Kanaki. Just like how Kanaki is trying to find his purpose and existence between the two worlds he’s stuck in. (My review was longer but it was to long :( )

Hot Take: Re > Original

by -

I really enjoyed TG, but what I realized once starting Re was that it was all just set up for thie latter part of the series. What I think some people may not like about this part is that it introduces a whole new slew of characters. I personally love these new characters, but what I like the most are the mysteries that are constantly revealing themselves as we are slowly reintroduced to the all the people (and ghouls) that we used to know.

This should be read immediately after the first part in order to appreciate it fully. It really is one continuous story and not a reboot or anything like that. If you enjoy theory crafting or looking deeper than what things may look like at surface level / doing some detective work of your own (very in theme with the story), then you will love this continuation of one of the best character driven stories out there.

Read all in one go, it’s worth it.

When the first series ended I honestly was too upset to read re: because I liked the ghouls more than the CCG. After rereading Tokyo Ghoul straight through instead of one every few months this box set came out so I decided to give it a try. I sure am glad I did because the whole series comes together for a satisfying conclusion. I also realized the benefit of reading it all in one go, it’s much easier to remember details.

Worth it? I’d buy again!

This box set was out of stock for a while, making the arrival exciting and surprising enough to make my day when I got informed that it would start shipping! The poster looks awesome, it came with all 16 books like expected, and I seriously cannot wait to start reading!!! Definitely recommend, box sets are usually worth it, in my opinion. I’ve also heard that the manga is a masterpiece, as the anime got hard to follow after season 2. Wrapping this up, definitely worth the wait, and it looks awesome, definitely recommend personally!

An Amazing Box Set That Is Worth The Price

by -

Sui Ishida's art is next level on this box set and I don't remember if the nonbox set Tokyo Ghoul: Re volumes have colored art but the ones here do. Also, it came with a cool double-sided poster of Kaneki. I've started reading this and it is still an amazing series as with one of the best main characters of all time and some of my favorite story arcs as well. By the way, if anyone is interested in buying this you need to read Tokyo Ghoul first to understand the story. Anyone who is coming from the anime y'all should know that it skipped out on some content and was a meh adaptation of the manga so you should pick this up.

One of the best Manga Series

by -

Collecting the 16 volumes individually all at once is pricey, and an investment. So, I opted to get the boxset instead. When I received it, it came in good shape, besides a few crushed corners, but I don’t mind. Rightstuf always makes sure to package their items with care, so I know it is not their fault. Continuing, I bought this when it was discounted so it’s worth it when you want to save a bit. The storyline is top tier, and you can find a lot of call backs to the previous series. If someone likes Tokyo Ghoul and wants to collect it, I will recommend it, since it’s a lot easier to get them all at once.
