Just didn't do it for me...

by -

Don't get me wrong, the art is cute and it seems kind of interesting, but the story just didn't click with me. By midway through, I was looking forward to moving on to a different series to read, and by the time I hit the end of the first volume of Hanako-kun, I knew I wouldn't continue it. I think it's a little too much of a "monster of the day" formulaic plot for me to stay interested in.

it's really adorable! i picked it because the art style looked unique, AND MAN, I DON'T REGRET IT. its one of the most unique and gorgeous mangas ive come across! . the plot of the story is really good, but you have some improvements. as you start reading this it comes across as a happy-go-lucky manga, but as you get deeper it gets even darker and darker.

Toilet-Bound Hanako-Kun

I don't ever write reviews, especially not for a series that's not even done yet. But this is honestly such an amazing manga and I recommend everybody gives it a read! The art is literally so beautiful I can't express. The story is intriguing and gets you hooked. The characters are interesting and I love their designs. I'll try not to spoil anything but it's a manga that comes off as quite cute and lighthearted and then takes a turn you didn't originally expect it to take, which I love. Overall, it's a 10/10. The story, art, characters, everything is a masterpiece.

Fun and Simple

by

The highlight of this series for me is by far the art style, which is unique and really pops off the page. Hanako himself is a fun and surprisingly complex character, which makes his interactions with others infinitely fun to read. Our lady lead is also very relatable and cute. The first volume is pretty simple and straightforward, not yet delving into darker parts of the series, but it remains a fun read.

Highly recommend you read the manga if you watched the anime

by

First got the manga after binge watching the first season. The story is very nice as well as doing some dark elements. The artwork is one thing I cannot stop raving about. It’s so unique and beautiful. If you watched the anime I recommend reading the manga as some of the arcs were switched around in the anime. You also get a better understanding of the characters as well as little hints of what’s going on. All in all I highly recommend people try out the first volume and if they like it to pick up the rest! I know I have every volume currently available and two preordered.

A great read

I love this manga, the story is funny and cute, the art style is really cute and amazing, and I love how it has different stories throughout the manga. I watched the anime first and the manga definitely did not disappoint. I 100% recommend this and the series to others.

Ghosty Ghoulies in the girls bathroom!

Manga vs. Anime:
I watched the anime first before i read the book. The Anime pretty much sticks to the manga so if you've watched the Anime first like i have i'd just skip to Vol.8

Actual Review of the book:
The book itself came undamaged. The art is absolutely beautiful, I like the story in all honesty. Hanako is a sassy Ghost who's trying to make things right with the humans and the school wonders. Nene is his adorable, dizzy daikon legged assistant who just cannot stay out of trouble and Koh is just...Koh. If you like spooky stories that involve: Supernaturals, good boys, sassy boys, doughnuts, and candy eating spirit rabbits (called Mokke) then yes i recommend reading this.

Beautiful!

The manga looks absolutely stunning! The art style is awe-striking and the emotions can be felt with every stroke. It doesn't look like it but it is actually quite dark (still good though). The fl isn't that bad definitely would recommend it.
