The slope down steepens

The first book really interested me with its premise and I can't say that there isn't anything in this one for people who liked it. The big problem is Nemaki's IQ couldn't possibly be higher than 50. Between the same joke of Gol is attracted to him and he's oblivious every 4 pages and him not being aware of anything going on around him I couldn't stay invested. Example, he is trying to talk to a thug and isn't aware that while he's talking to him Gol is literally torturing the guy... like in front of him just doesn't notice his bones being broken or anything.

Anyway I think there is a fun story in here it's just drowning in stupidity and this will be the end of the line for me.
