Blood and Smoke - For the Fatherland!

This volume covers the Dacian 'live target exercise' to the start of Operation Shock and Awe, with some small missions that weren't included in the anime. Weiss is mentioned more than in the anime while the opposite happens with Victoriya (which is a damn shame because I ship her with Tanya lol). The narration is also more serious than both the anime and manga adaptions, however I feel that it lacks the awesome imagery that should accompany the awesome scenes of Tanya casting her big spells -- except for one instance,
***SPOILER: when she blew up that Commonwealth Observation team
- her battle with Colonel Anson Sue was toned down to a great degree, seeing as that was one of the highlights in the anime
- Grantz, instead of belonging to the original augmented battalion, came in as a VERY new recruit with no experience whatsoever.
It's a great tragedy how it seems like the other nations are piling up the blame of war all on the Empire when it was the Entente Alliance who started all.
