Too Drunk to Read

by

I can not finish this book. I was so bored, I couldn't finish one chapter. All I got form it was a girl who was moving from place to place drinking and meeting new people. There is a guy who is following her wanting to meet her. He also ends up running into people and drinking so much as well.

Unless you have a thing for drinking; which I do not, then this is not for you. It is supposed to be a romance story, but all I got from this is drunkards moving around all night.

I don't understand the fun of drinking and getting inebriated, but if you people like getting wasted, then by all means, get drunk; just stay the squid away from me, please.

Great Addition to Your Library if you Enjoy Works Based on Tomihiko Morimi's Novels

by -

I've been a fan of Tomihiko Morimi's works ever since I saw anime based off of his novels (Tatami Galaxy, Penguin Highway, and Night is Short).

The book itself is a gorgeous hardcover book with a stylish dust jacket cover by Yusuke Nakamura. It's lovely to hold and look at.

The story follows a university student (known only as "the black-haired maiden) as she navigates through the cusp of adulthood. The deuteragonist is an older student known only as "the clubmate" who, in a desperate attempt to be the protagonist of his own story and seize a happy ending, is often thrown to the side.

The novel is presented in first person switching between our protagonists; it is told as if they are relating it to a friend, and there are times where it directly addresses the reader. As each protagonist is preoccupied with giving their own story you have to realize that there is often embellished, full of their own impressions.

All in all it was a wonderful read and I will remain a fan of his work.
