If you like Iyashikei anime dealing with Yokai (ghosts/spirits) that are
a relaxing watch similar to "Mushi-Shi" and "Natsume's Book of Friends", then "The Morose Mononokean" is a series you will also enjoy. Abeno is the Mononokean (Master who exorcises Yokai to the underworld) who hires a naive, helpful, but emotional student named Ashiya Hanae as his assistant, and soon enough the amusing adventures begin.
I found both the Yokai/Human characters as very appealing in this show, and thought the Yokai that (Shaped as a room) opens doors/portals to various places, and communicates via text on a hanging wall scroll as unique/different. And l really enjoyed the sight gags between Ashiya and fellow student Zenko...it's really funny.
The series features wonderful characters, plenty of light-hearted humor, and is relaxing, even a therapeutic type show to me. With a second season available, this series is definitely worth checking out. Enjoy in 1080p / 16:9 format.
