About The Heroic Legend of Arslan Manga Volume 4

The Heroic Legend of Arslan features story by Yoshiki Tanaka and art by Hiromu Arakawa.

The priestess Farangis and wandering minstrel Gieve have joined Prince Arslan in his quest to reclaim his kingdom. But these new additions are far from enough to stand up against the vast army of Lusitania and the nefarious scheming of the Man in the Silver Mask. Arslan must seek reinforcements from Kashan Fortress and is warmly greeted by its lord, Hodir, but Hodir's hospitality will come at a price. As the path to the royal throne stands before him, Arslan's principles will be put to the test and he will discover what it means to be a true king.

Garnering the Recognition of a Hero

by

Arslan's journey was always about finding his unique role as the shamed weak son of the great war king Andragoras, and this volume further proves he's shaping out to be a true man of value. With a rare trait of compassion for all things that lives in this era of war, he proves to be a charismatic leader among his ragtag group of skilled warriors of brain and brawn despite the mindset of kill or be killed.
What I love most about this series is the clever plots between those who wish for personal gain and those who work for the greater good, and how unknowing characters who are whisked along with Arslan's purpose become enamored with his way of thinking and contribute their own way of doing things. It makes for a beautiful soup of careful characterization and philosophy of a life at war and hierarchy.
