The Best Five Chapters You Can Ask For
by Brandon -
I never knew such a moving story could be contained in one little volume. I doubted it for a little while, but then I got to the magical point where everything just fell together and I was instantly enraptured by this manga.
It's only one volume, there's no reason not to try it. You just might become as taken with it as I am.
Worth the Read and Buy
by GreenAngel5 -
Just wow.
If you have a collection of manga or just a casual reader, I'd recommend this book. It's only one volume and it reads pretty easy with nice art along with it.
The story and plot are really well thought out, and I didn't see any filler that felt out of place. The characters seem rather realistic and due to the situation that they find themselves in, I can totally see it. I don't want to spoil it, so I'm not; but you will have food for thought and maybe feel some emotion for these characters.
An Emotional Experience.
by Cain -
Emotion. That is the one word I would use to describe this manga. I am new to manga and I absolutely loved this one. if you're new to manga and want an emotional experience this is a great start. This is a one off manga so you don't need to worry about volumes. It's one story within the manga. The art is beautiful, the story is beautiful, this manga is beautiful. A romance story with themes of loss, abandonment, love, and life. There's also many small details in the artwork. Look out for the symbolic flowers. For all these reasons this manga is five stars for me.
A real 5 star manga!
by Walt
"The Gods Lie" accomplishes in 1 volume what other stories take years to do. That's to make an impact on the reader. A strong impact. While generally, a story of the characters coming together to handle adult problems, the development of a relationship proves how "love conquers all". Lots to look at in the art keeps re-readability high. This one-shot read is worth the money and is a good place for newbies to start.
Best Short Manga
by Gabriela -
“The Gods lie” is such a wonderful short manga. This was my first ever manga. A lot of have recommended it. So I finally gave in and bought it. Let me just tell you it blew me away.
This manga is so beautiful, it had me hooked right away. This is a story with themes of loss, love, abandonment, and life. The characters develop a relationship that proves love can conquer all. The art is so beautiful!
I recommend this manga to everyone! It’s worth your money.
Sweet story you’ll love
by Abigail -
This was such a great buy, it’s a slice of life/ romance yet it was sad in a sweet way. The plot is so good and the end had me in tears, definitely recommend!
An emotional story with characters that feel real
by DiscoPunk
For the most part, the relationships and emotions feel very real and natural. The ending, however, feels pretty telegraphed and almost like a cop-out to me. With that in mind, the rest of the story and the characters are good enough for me to suggest it to anyone!
Love the story and the art
by Kei -
I read this all in one sitting, which I don't do often since my attention span is so short. This manga really pulls you in and makes you feel as if you're there. It may not be the greatest or life changing story, but it has a good twist, and it's VERY well written.
Worth it!
by maya
I bought this knowing nothing about and wanting something new to read. It was definitely worth it. It was not what I expected at all. There was mystery, a romance as well as some sad moments that moved me to tears. It was such a great story. I only wished it was a little longer it went by so quick
Can I get seconds
by GuyCentsA
This manga was a quick and easy read only 216 pages. Very well written the author seamlessly gets the readers to fall in love with these characters. Did not see the OH MY GOSH part of the story coming out. Would love if they did a #2 which can be when they are older like in college and can catch up on all that's happened.
Beautiful, maybe a bit too quick
by Anna -
The art in this one-shot is lovely. It was a very quick read, but I did think it was a sweet and interesting story. I don't think I got quite as invested as some of the other reviewers here, but it was still an enjoyable read and I would recommend to anyone looking for something shorter.
eye opening
by lostwig
this was a short but fascinating read. a one-shot manga encapsulated in a high-quality book and beautiful art.
the plot was slow at first but an emotional ride once the story unfolds and when the characters backstory gets revealed. like others have mentioned, it's only one volume so it shouldn't hurt giving a try-- and it's definitely worth it!
