About The Girl From the Other Side Siuil a Run Manga Volume 1
The Girl From the Other Side: Siúil, a Rún volume 1 features story and art by Nagabe.
Once Upon a Time...
In a land far away, there were two kingdoms: the Outside, where twisted beasts roamed that could curse with a touch, and the Inside, where humans lived in safety and peace. The girl and the beast should never have met, but when they do, a quiet fairytale begins.
This is a story of two people—one human, one inhuman—who linger in the hazy twilight that separates night from day.

A unique and dark fairytale.
by Shiita64
Knowing nothing about this book or the author, I picked it up on a whim simply because the cover caught my eye. Glad I did, this manga is turning out to be something special.
The story as of this first volume is simple, akin to old fairy tales, but it is built up well, slowly letting the reader delve into the mysteries of the world and the heart of the characters. Nagabe's art is absolutely wonderful, creating a dark, vintage tone that is unique to any other manga artist I've seen.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good fairy tale and needs a break from the standard anime troupes.
Glad to have this in my collection

A very dark yet beautiful fairy tale. The artwork is lovely, the world is mysterious and alluring, and our leads are both very likeable characters. Looking forward to the next volume and seeing where the story goes.
Interesting premise, though kinda slow
by DaemonCorps
The art style alone should be enough to get anyone interested in this manga. The entire world crafted by the author feels so authentically like something out of an old fairy tale, that you can't help but keep reading. The main downside is that the narrative itself can be pretty sluggish at times and is offset only by the occasional cutesy back-and-forths between the odd couple that is a small child and a monster of vaguely-explained origins.
Bizarre, yet interesting tale

The outsiders

I was reluctant to purchase this at first because of the non traditional artwork, but found myself getting sucked into the story fast. By the end of the volume, I knew I needed to get more. If you like fairytales, this one's for you.
enthralling art and beautiful and unique story
by Sean
There is nothing in this book that i did not love. From the first page the art and the story got to me. The relationship between the little girl and the outsider is so wonderfully done. It feels so close, yet so distant, and the world building is just amazing. This first volume got me hooked and I got th rest, though I have not read them yet. To me this is one of the best series I have seen, especially the art. I am just enthralled by that
Hauntingly Beautiful
by Julian
A very beautiful yet haunting mystery, with a highly hooking plot, interesting characters, and a dark atmosphere. From the world building to the characters to the art style, everything was beyond my expectations. It's light-hearted but still contains an eerie feeling that tragedy is about to strike. I highly recommend this series to any fans of dark fairy tales and dark naturalism.
A unique story!!!

The story is quite unique. At first the kind of reminded me of Ancient Magus Bride. But, they more I looked at it the more it looked different. But, I love it so, far. It is a slow pacing story. But, I can handle it. I can't wait to get the 2nd manga.

The Girl from the Other Side is a story about a little girl and her unlikely friend and caretaker, a beast living outside of human society who will curse anyone he touches. This first volume spends time introducing us to the world and characters, exploring the relationship between Shiva and the beast, and touching on how she came to be in his care. Shiva is just a little girl and gets into the kind of trouble typical of small children, but in this world the repercussions of her impulsiveness can be severe. Thankfully she has her beast friend looking out for her.
I was originally drawn to this series by the art, which is a nice combination of cute and spooky and contributes heavily to the fairy tale feel of the series. Although the narrative is slow in this first volume, taking time to help us understand the world and the situation the characters are in, it’s nonetheless compelling. Just a warning: this volume ends on a cliffhanger, so make sure you have volume 2 at the ready.
