At the academic-city above water Rikka, also known as "Asterisk," students from each of the six schools at Asterisk prepare for the ultimate battle tournament -- known as "Festa." Seidoukan Academy's Ayato Amagiri takes up the challenge along with his partner Julis, a.k.a. Glühen Rose, the Witch of the Resplendent Flames. A real quality set
by Spencer -
Aniplex really stepped up their game to bring a quality set for The Asterisk War. On top of giving it an English dub, they included art cards, the soundtrack, and some art cards which are nice to look at. If you enjoy the sub you'll definitely enjoy the dub.
Bad time good anime
Overall a good anime and a well done English dub. However I have a problem with their release schedule . They are not releasing volume two until November. So if your like me and hate a two month gap in an already short anime I would wait.
A Great Purchase!

I just got my copy in a couple days ago, and I must say, I am not disappointed. The box it comes in is beautiful, as is the cases the discs come in. The art book is significantly smaller than I expected, but it comes with a LOT more than I expected, which is always a lovely surprise. Plus, the Asterisk War Infusion #1 track was overall pretty grea, despite being a little over 12 minutes long! Overall, if you're a HUGE fan of this series, and/or a collector, this is the set for you. Eagerly awaiting the release of volume 2 of season 1, and hopefully volume 1 of season 2 not far behind!
And it has a good english dub!

It's already been year since The Asterisk War aired and now the Blu-ray is here! While the story may not add anything new to its genre; Asterisk is still a fun and entertaining show. Aniplex did a fine job with this English Dub; each voice-over was well suited for their characters. Very glad Aniplex was able to secure the Web Previews for this release. Packaging is great too! It's not a chipboard box, more like a plastic slipcover; Julis is featured on one side and Kirin on the other. The Infusion Mix isn't an OST but it's still a really cool mix. The postcards and art-book are awesome! Lots of information about the series is included in the book. High price but it feels justified. Looking forward to Vol. 2.
Over all great buy

I loved this anime can not wait for the rest of the volumes to come out. This Limited Editions box art is nice plus it comes with a mix CD, an art book, and great looking post cards. I think it was a good deal.
Amazing Animation Quality
by Frost -
Don't care for Extra stuff, only care about Soundtrack, wish it had more than one song, as for the anime, it's pretty good. Animation quality is top notch.
Stream before you buy - I found the show boring and contrived, others love it
by StephenL -
Asterisk War looks amazing. The animation is good quality, the artwork is great (though some of the 3D people in the early episodes look TERRIBLE and offputting). The problem is, the show is... boring. I found myself marathoning the entire show, and at the end I wondered why I didn't stop after the first 3-4 episodes.
That is, of course, me. For others, they love it. Which is why I would highly recommend a stream of this prior to purchase. I was dumb and blind bought the LEs. Yes. My mistake, and for anyone that loves the show, good on you as you got a fantastic release.
Audio and video quality are near perfect, thanks to this being an Aniplex show. Not that most folks care about that much, but given the pricing structure Aniplex follows, the closer to perfection the better.
