Great series; inconsistant terminology.

by -

Basing off of how much Sigsawa is known for being a gun nut, I'm going to wager that the following problems come from the translation.

Basically, the terminology used in this book is inconsistent.

For starters, they tend to use the terms "magazine" and "clip" interchangeably even though they are not the same thing. In every and all cases in this story "magazine" should have been used. "Clips" are used to hold bullets. "Stripper Clips" are used to manually load bullets (either into a magazine or rifle). "Magazines" automatically feed bullets into a weapon.

Secondly, they arbitrarily swap between using metric units and imperial units. They will say that "the nearest team is 1 kilometer away" but then go and say "the weapon has a range of 1,200 yards." It's confusing and makes it hard to grasp the description of the scene.

For reference, the military uses metric units because its easy to work with.

Otherwise, the characters are story are great and I highly recommend it.
