A story of friendship

by

The main characters, Fumi & Akira, are not lovers but close friends from childhood and now reacquainted as adolescents. The principal focus is not so much on Fumi's lesbian love interest, but on Akira's determination to support her friend. Although Akira doesn't always know how to offer support, Fumi knows she can count on her bff Akira to be there for her. The series has the feel of an authentic story about realistically conceived young girl characters, not an over-the-top farce of innuendo.

This is a very touching, lovely story of enduring friendship, even when things do not turn out to be what you expected. Like author Takako Shimura's brilliant Wandering Son, the story is one of the triumph of acceptance, love and friendship over stereotypes and empty prejudice.

This anime is well worth your time and investment. Lucky Penny has found another treasure like Restaurante Paradiso!

Unrequited Love and a Beautiful Friendship

by

In honest truth it's always hard to find a good Yuri themed anime and when I happened to get this in a blind box (I almost did laps of joy and I even might of yelped in joy) I was ecstatic. I had read about it for so long I just couldn't believe I got it. Okay, I'll stop my happy rant now... This story really focuses on a friendship between two girls and even though one happens to be gay and struggles with the identity socially, her friend graciously finds a way to support her. There are actually more love stories of course (unrequited first loves and the pains of trying to accept it) but it has such a unique quality of actual human emotion that it makes this short series memorable. Even if you're not gay or into Yuri themes, one can definitely relate to the emotional roller coaster these characters go through.

PS: Thank you Rightstuf for releasing this gem.

full of emotion... worth it.

I could give this 5 stars, but its closer to 4.2-4.3

a really good story, pretty good music, but animation quality isn't great.

if you can look past that, this is a really touching anime.
