Sports anime? Only at first glance! This anime delves into the home lives of each of the main cast (the soft tennis team, their manager, & artist friend) - they each have difficult situations at home that can really hit close to home for viewers. This anime is incredibly bold in the societal issues it addresses. The soft & pastel-toned art style may make you believe this is a lighthearted anime about friendship & soft tennis, but nope - from episode one, you'll see just how dark this series can get. It also has incredible LGBTQ+ representation, which I would love to see explored more in season 2.
The rest of the story has been written, but as of right now its future is uncertain. Please show support for this amazing series if you can. It deserves to be completed. Stars Align became one of my favorite animes of all-time & I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a serious story that handles real life issues.
