Despite what the packaging might tell you

by

According from claims by the license holder and on the packaging that this set has Japanese audio.... No, which the reason why I purchased this set, not through RightStuf this time around, was because of the claim of a Japanese track... I thought I would be watching Mach-Go-Go-Go.

Remaster of classic!

by

Finally after many years we have a blu ray remaster of a classic show. Packaging is just like any other Funimation release, which includes 5 Blu Ray disks all in the original English dub (no Japanese audio, despite what it says on the back). Still just as awesome today as it was then!

Stellar Release of a Classic

by -

Speed Racer was the first anime I watched on TV. So, I was happy when Funimation released this, and more so with care. The PQ was top-notch on this and looks like it had extensive restoration work done to it. For the most part, the audio quality is acceptable even if it has some drop-outs, but its nothing that distracts from the viewing purpose.

I know some people were angry this didn't have the Japanese audio, but this release was never supposed to have the Japanese audio and it was a mistake on Funimation's part listing it on the back. Also, this one of the rare anime series where the English dub is good and part of my childhood memories. My only complaint would be that maybe this could have some extras as there is surely a lot they could talk about with the legacy of Speed Racer, but extras would probably also drive up the price of this which is very affordable for those on a budget

It still holds a spec8al place in my heart its a strue classic and worth the buy and the price cant be beat for what you get every episode remastered and for then the cost of ordering a pizza super happy with the presentation
