Soul Eater The Perfect Edition Manga Volume 1 (Hardcover)
About Soul Eater The Perfect Edition Manga Volume 1 (Hardcover)
Soul Eater: The Perfect Edition manga volume 1 collects approximately 1½ original volumes in an omnibus hardcover edition which features story and art by Atsushi Ohkubo.
Maka, a Weapon Meister at the Death Weapon Meister Academy (DWMA), has but one goal in life—to successfully evolve her living-scythe partner, Soul Eater, into a Death Scythe, the ultimate weapon of Death. To accomplish this, Soul must consume 99 tainted human souls, in addition to the soul of a witch. It sounds simple enough, but with devious creatures and unearthly monsters getting in the way at every turn (to say nothing of interpersonal relationships), it’s much easier said than done!
The saga of the Meisters and their Weapons takes on a whole new look in the gorgeous Soul Eater: Perfect Edition! Dive into Maka and Soul’s adventures in a unique larger format on high-end paper stock that maximizes the dynamic art of the series! Each volume of this deluxe omnibus edition of the megahit manga includes the content of approximately 1½ original volumes, the original color pages, an updated translation and lettering, and to top it all off, brand-new cover art drawn by creator Atsushi Ohkubo himself!

New Edition - New Translation
by CODY -
Previously published under Yen Press, this new edition is Hardcover, includes 1.5 volumes, and also keeps the color pages.
The translation is very similar to YPs release, but there are some differences like "I'll become death's weapon" is now "I'll get to be a death scythe too," as well as a few other small changes.
The paper is glossy and the spine art is loud. It looks like this does not contain the extras from the paperback volumes, though maybe that'll come in the next volume.
Overall, pretty good. It looks good.
