About Shomin Sample Blu-ray/DVD

Shomin Sample contains episodes 1-12.

When average student Kimito Kagurazaka is suddenly kidnapped by a hoard of burly men, the last place he expects to end up is the elite Seikein Girls' School! Now, surrounded by beautiful but totally sheltered girls, Kimito must deal with being their 'Shomin Sample'-an example commoner for the girls to observe and learn from. But what's the catch? He has to trade in his thigh fetish for a faux love of muscled men if he wants to stay in this paradise...and keep his family jewels!

But being in a school filled with gorgeous elites isn't all it's cracked up to be. Between the eccentric Aika, the proper Reiko, the ready-to-strip genius Hakua, and the dangerous samurai Karen, Kimito has his hands full of trouble. And these girls are dying for more than a sample of this commoner!

Despite the jealous bickering, the outrageous scenarios, and more than a few compromising positions, Kimito and the girls will learn more from each other than they ever expected.

This is a great comedy the oblivious swarm of rich girls not knowing the every day actions and behaviors of "commoners" there is always something to laugh at

A Better Romantic Comedy/Harem Anime than most

by -

I've been generally avoiding Harem anime as of late due to them having no substance in the story or character development and I'm glad to say that Shomin Sample is different.

While the story is simple, boy must pretend he is gay to continue to attend an all girls school or loose his family jewels, there are moments of character development for the main crew of girls he encounters and the story feels like its going somewhere. There are ecchi moments but they are pretty tame and don't happen as often as other anime in this genre.

Also thank god the MC isn't a stuttering, blubbering, embarrassed mess of a character when he interacts with the girls. Even when he is thrown into those "situations" he'll initially apologize then keep a cool head through it all.

In short, it's an entertaining anime that doesn't follow the usual Harem shortcomings and I recommend it for any slice of life fan.

Harem Comedy Incoming!

The premise for this show is pretty ridiculous (male MC is chosen to attend a rich, all-girl's school so they can be educated on "commoners"). So of course a textbook harem anime ensues. It kind of reminded me of Haganai, which of course is a good thing. The Yuru Yuri references were also awesome. If you like SoL Harem Comedies (pretty niche, I know) then you will love this one....I did ;)
