About School Days Blu-ray

School Days complete collection contains episodes 1-12.

Makoto Ito's in his first year of high school and looking for a girlfriend. He thinks he's found the jackpot in Kotonoha Katsura, but isn't sure of how to make the approach. His classmate, the equally pretty Sekai Saionji, thinks she has the answer and offers to help bring the two together.

At first, Makoto eagerly accepts, but as Sekai's offers become increasingly advanced, his feelings begin to waver - and not just in her direction. Making matters worse, all the girls professing a newfound interest in him seem to be a little bit... off.

Adapted from the hit Visual Novel and directed by Keitaro Motonaga (Jormungand, Majikoi), School Days is a suspenseful look at what happens when the playing field takes a turn for the worse. Controversial enough to require postponing broadcast in favor of a nice boat, School Days goes where most high school romances wouldn't dare!

All the pain and suffering... Now in HD!

by -

School Days is... hard to describe without giving too much away to those experiencing it for the first time. I'll say this; if you're gong into this only by what you see on the front cover, you're in for the ride of your life!
As far as anime goes, this one is infamous among otaku for splitting the community right down the middle. Some people love School Days, and some hate it with all their being. It's very rare to hear a passive opinion on the show. Personally, I love School Days. Sure, watching all 12 episodes on my DVD copy made me want to smash my TV screen and snap each disc in half, but suffering through it all and finally reaching the ending is just... so perfect. So blissfully perfect. I look forward to experiencing those emotions again; and now in HD!
If you even have a passing interest in anime, and you haven't seen this one yet, don't you DARE look up the ending, or any other story details online. You owe it to yourself to experience this the way we all have. Enjoy~

this anime is terrible and good at the same time. like the previous post I will try not to reveal 2 much about the ending, but I'm sure my reference will give it away. this anime is a cross between Rumbling Hearts + Shuffle + Suzuka with a Higurashi ending. hahahahhaha I was hoping for an ending like this. i could have given it 4 stars to round up.... but i wont. :P

Best version we will probably ever get

by

School Days...the anime that starts off simple and predictable enough then takes a quick left turn. I don't think anything I say will prove new light onto what has already been said to death about this series, so I will just stick to the technical-ish side. If you're reading this chances are you have already made up your mind on if you like this series or not.

As far as picture goes you are not going to find this series looking any better anywhere else...colors are bight and vivid for what is presented here. I will say as far as the actual animation goes..well..it leaves a bit to be desired especially when compared to other anime released around the same year, but it isn't bad I would just say serviceable.

Audio-wise well...this isn't anything to write home about especially for a 2.0 mix...a few audio mix issues (music kicks in to drown voices) but it is what it is...not bad but nothing great.

Please, just please...

NEVER waste your money on this extremely awful load of garbage. If you're too curious and want to see what's so bad about it, just stream it. You will strongly regret spending a cent on this series, trust me.

Don't waste your time watching this cause you'll regret it

I went into this anime with an open mind. I heard mixed reviews about it, more bad than good but I wanted to see it for myself before I could totally write it off and WOW what a pile of crap. Generic story, no redeemable characters, terrible story and an ending that will shock you. Don't waste your time with this I beg you. I can't believe some people actually like this anime and even gave it more than two stars is shocking. Worst anime of all time.

This isn't a game...

by -

This Anime from what I have learned was based off a Game that become a Manga that became an Anime.

There was dozens of different endings in the game and the most popular was put in the Anime.

I love this Anime and I'm not a fan of Subs at all. I don't really have an opinion on the ending because what I love about the Anime is the history on how it was created.

Feel free to look up spoilers because this Anime is more about a story of choice an consequences.

Don't make bad choices in real life and this Anime wont rub you the wrong way.

Legendary Offensive , Hilariously Bad

by

This is one of the special ones... “School Days” is infamous for its awful characterisation, horribly mishandled theme of emotional abuse, misogynistic lead character that the audience is supposed to identify with and lifeless animation. This series gets a lot of hype for being one of the worst ever produced. In reality that is something of an overstatement. I managed to finish it, endure all 12 episodes. The problem lies in the cringeworthy depictions of romantic relationships and the very real problems that can arise when in one. It’s offensive, mishandled and it makes my skin crawl.

And you should all go and watch it.

You have to experience this. The blu-ray release contains the entire 12 episode run and, more importantly contains an unedited version of the final episode. If you don’t know what that means I’m not going to be the one to spoil it. I will only say that it makes for one of the most unintentionaly funny viewing experiences I’ve ever had in my life.

Not worth it

by -

I bought this on sale as a cold buy, it was ten dollars.
I can honestly say it wasn’t worth ten dollars. The main character is a horrid. He uses the other characters in the show for is sexual desires. And actually manages to mentally damage one girl to the point of no return. The last 1:30 of the show is the only thing that made it not a complete waste of money

Worth It

by -

People either love or hate school days but I thought it was pretty good. At the very least it is pretty well paced, I watched it in one sitting. No dub was made but you get the OVA. Extras are pretty much commercials and openings. The most definitive edition there is.

Not quite a "complete" collection

by -

I like School Days. Regardless of how you feel about this series, you've got to admit it has guts and goes in a direction where most other anime would never go. Despite being based on a bishoujo game, which are known for featuring unrealistically perfect heroines, School Days isn't afraid of portraying its characters in a negative light. The main cast can be selfish, mean, uncaring, overly clingy and even self-destructive. These character flaws are what keeps the story so interesting. Literally every episode drastically changes the relationship between the three main characters. I see this series as a deconstruction of the harem genre and bishoujo games, and as such it's definitely worth watching if you can stomach the more upsetting moments.

My only problem with this Blu-Ray is that it only includes one of the two existing OVAs. Included is the Magical Heart Kokoro-chan OVA, but the Valentine Days OVA is missing.

Never Cheat

by -

This show isn’t for everybody. The anime is based of an eroge of the same name. The show however shows all the bad choices being made through the main character. The main character in this show is one of the dumbest and cold hearted characters I’ve seen. He keeps cheating with many girls, especially later in the show. Please keep in mind the blu ray picture shows it to be innocent but it isn’t.

However I have grown to like the show. It is something that will shock you in your first viewing. Yes, the characters are horrible in their choices but that’s just how the show was written. If you were not satisfied with the ending of the show, I recommending playing the School Days HQ game that has some satisfying endings with your choices. The show has proven one of the biggest life lessons to be true and it’s to never cheat and just tell the truth immediately.
