Sailor Moon Crystal Season 1

by

This 2 Disc set contains Season 1 (Episodes 1 -14) of the new Sailor Moon Anime, Sailor Moon Crystal. Sailor Moon Crystal Season 1 takes place during the Dark Kingdom Arc (Acts 1 - 14 / Volumes 01 - 03) of the Manga Series and is much more loyal to the manga series than the original anime series was and much faster paced. I love the original Sailor Moon anime but I love this version as well and thought it did a really good job of breathing new life into the franchise. I especially love watching the relationship between Usagi and Mamoru in this version of the series. Overall this season was really fun and I am can't wait to see Season 2 of Sailor Moon Crystal when it is released on DVD.

A beautiful anime for Sailor Moon fans

by -

I got this DVD for my girlfriend on her birthday. I watched some episodes with her and we think the anime looks very beautiful. From I understand, the Crystal version focuses on the Sailor Moon manga story plot as opposes to the classic version.

A great reboot that's fresh and new (review for parts 1,2,&3)

by

A well put together show from the visuals to the music. The art style does take a little to get used to. The other change is how different the story is. It’s still the basic story but with new events and changes to make it fresh and new. Each arc starts off promising, gets a little slow, but brings it back up with the 2nd half and final battle. The music is really great from the themes to the background music. It really adds to scenes, making them pop out. I like how serious it is but also miss some of the goofiness of the original. Cons I had with the original get better but there are some moments I liked in the original more. Such as the original had more character personality and development. And some parts seem to go by quickly. Questions I also had are answered here as well. The cg parts are a bit off putting, but glad it got changed in season 3. “Should I watch this or the original?” Watch both, but watch the original first. Both great, and in all, I would recommend this series
