An Alternate Universe World War 1 Epic Involving Mages & Sorcery

This is Quite an entertaining war drama series. A show where our protagonist now enlists in the military to climb the ranks and achieve a rear-echelon assignment where it's most safe. Unfortunately for Tanya, the entity named 'Being X' constantly interferes with her plans, and she usually winds up in peril at the front lines instead.
While Tanya's character comes across as unlikable at first, one can understand this anti-hero's merciless actions once you learn that should he/she die in this alternate universe, Being X will send Tanya to hell for eternity. As such, Tanya employs her magic/sorcery abilities in war to just simply survive. The action sequences are grand with exploding bullets, barriers that deflect cannon shells, anti-gravity equipment that defines new meaning to 'Quick Reaction Force', and applies historic knowledge of past warfare towards advantage in this universe. Highly recommended for those who enjoy Isekai and war stories. Hope the movie is also released someday.
Solid release for a good show

This is a solid, no frills release of Tanya the Evil at a fair price (especially on sale). Plus, like most Funimation releases it comes with a digital download code. The case won't blow you away in quality, but at this price point that's not what it's meant to do.
As for the show itself, Tanya the Evil is an Isekai that stands out with a unique setting and a protagonist that isn't just a blank slate for the audience. The story and action scenes are well voice acted (even the Dub) and animated, but if you're looking for any sort of romance you'll want to look elsewhere. It's an above average 8/10 show
