You should read this

At first I was skeptical, but I read it because a friend spoke highly of it. So I borrowed the novel and it sat for a few weeks before I picked it up. I finished it in 2 nights. Teacher - the sword - is very protective of his user - Fran. The two set out on an adventure so she can be the first of her kind to evolve. Along the way is danger and new friends.
Love Me Some Isekai

I gave this a four out of five because there's always wiggle room for little plot details to be touched back on in the sequel.
But I really do recommend this series (I say as I'm currently on the second book). Unlike the manga, the beginning takes place to where the MC wakes up and levels himself up. From there you probably know where this already goes. I found myself agreeing with other reviewers elsewhere who say they didn't care as much about the main character and his (its?) point of view, but more that you are focused, like the MC, on Fran. There is a lot to be desired from her character and how she reacts to any situation. You adore her just as much (no, no loli-con!) and cheer her on as you go. Plus the plot leaves a lot in the first book to make you keep reading-there's so much to discover that the author has yet to touch base with.
So, yes, I definitely recommend for those wanting a good fantasy/RPG series.
A Unique Take on the Isekai genre

Certainly a unique take on the isekai genre with the main character being reincarnated as a sword in a fantasy world. The first chapter reminded me a lot of the opening moments of Reincarnated as a Slime and Arifureta with the skill gathering. Fran is also a fun character, but I did find her a little one-note and didn't notice a ton of expressions being described for her. The dialogue could also be tricky to follow sometimes with multiple characters speaking and no super clear indication of who is talking. But I liked the story overall and I'll be eager to see where it goes from here.
Amazing Book

This was the first every light novel I read, and I am glad I picked up this book as my first. Having not read any books besides for school in ages, this was the perfect book for me. It was something interesting that I wanted to keep following, and I got so invested that I finished all 6 books that were available at the time within 5 or 6 days. 2 weeks after, when the 7th volume had a digital version released I instantly read that too.
Although I haven't had many other books in the genre to compare it too, as I've only started reading recently, the book was fantastic and I definitely recommend it. If you find the beginning boring with the skill gathering, I suggest you just continue reading as that becomes a thing of the past very quickly. I would not skip however, as the skills gained, and the strategies employed are explained enough that it gives you an understanding of things that come much later in the series and book.

I am really glad I gave this one a go. I was after a different book at the time but it was sold out so I went with this one and dang is it good! I love how the stats and skills are managed and the MC is really chill. If you like isekai you should give it a go! :)
