Ranma 1/2 OVA and Movie Collection Limited Edition Blu-ray
About Ranma 1/2 OVA and Movie Collection Limited Edition Blu-ray
Ranma 1/2 OVA and Movie Collection Limited Edition contains 11 OVA episodes of the anime directed by Junji Nishimura and 3 theatrical movies plus a 32-page booklet and a premium foil stamped chipboard box.
Ranma, the iconic creation of master artist Rumiko Takahashi, is back for new adventures and more than a few misunderstandings along the way! From mishaps at a holiday party to casual use of mystical trinkets to possession by cursed dolls, what's in store for Ranma is anyone's guess in these original anime adventures. Along with the formerly video-only antics are Ranma 1/2's two feature-length movies and one special OVA-length movie that brought Ranma to theaters to make some big choices with his heart and not his head... which is usually what starts his trouble in the first place!

Ratings & Reviews
This is a classic anime must have for your anime collection!
by Kong Wei Chow
This is a classic anime must have for your anime collection considering Ranma 1/2 dates back in the 90's and the OVAS and movies were release in 2000 under Pioneer and Viz Video which now the company is called Viz Media and Pioneer which no longer exist as a anime distribution company.
Ranma NEVER looked better than this! Great episodes, too

If I were only going to buy ONE Ranma set, it would be this one.
The production values on these episodes are far higher than the TV series was in general. The manga chapters adapted are generally excellent and it does not have the filler of the TV series. The original vocal cast also gave some of their best performances in these OVAs.
The artwork and animation were the best in the OVAs. At the time of its original release, the series was popular enough to warrant 11 OVAs (3-separate series), 2 movies, 1 mini-movie, and 2-part music video (never licensed for the US)! Years later, a twelfth OVA was produced to celebrate Takahashi's 30th anniversary as a pro. Unfortunately, it does not seem like that OVA was licensed for this release...
The movies are so-so. I honestly don't remember the first movie at this point! I generally prefer the second for its higher-production values.
The classic returns

For those wanting to know why to update their collection. Aside from the obvious picture and audio upgrade. One famous issue with the 1st release was an audio synch in episode 1. It was terrible. It is all fixed. Sounds great and looks great. The set is a great value and quality is very good.
Best Release Of Ranma Yet
Just got this yesterday-the picture quality is fantastic. It's a great way to cap the Ranma 1/2 series-I actually like the ova episodes better than a lot of the regular series eps. It's also great to finally have the movies on bluray-they look way better than my hoary old dvds. Great buy!!

A beautiful reissue

This stuff just doesn't get old for me. It was twenty years ago that I first saw these and at least 10 years since I saw them last. This set is a good reissue and finally fixes those audio problems. The box and insert are absolutely beautiful. this is what a limited edition set should look like. Also this set places the original opening and ending sequences in their proper place for each oav rather than just using a few all the time and bunching the rest into an extra like the old set. I am suspicious, however that the movies have been pan and scanned to fit a modern TV (like dragonball Z was) I sampled my old dvds and am pretty sure they were originally 4:3 - but i'm not certain. This is an awesome set however, and the only reason I didn't give it five stars is because I couldn't turn off the subtitles - I don't need them anymore for these old shows - which was disappointing.

I was amazed with the extras that came with this, a few openings and closing of the OVAs I had never seen before. Other then that, what is not to love? The OVAs and Movies all in one! If you are a Ranma 1/2 I don't think you need this or any other review to sell you on anything, if you are new, start with the first volume and work your way up to this one with the movies and OVAs or you might find yourself asking, "who is that?" and "How did everyone suddenly know this!?" other then that you can't go wrong with this fun classic!

Been a big fan of the serie since I first watched it when I was 6. The ovas are one of my favorite, ranma is just one of those shows that never gets old and I could watch over and over again. I love this limited edition, the booklet and the box is just awesome.
