This manga really is Glowing!

While the pacing is brisk in Ran and the Gray World, there is a lot being set up, so it feels very much like a slow burn. Ran lives in multiple parallel worlds—magic and mundane, childhood and adulthood. Each of these worlds introduce conflict in the form of family disfunction, unpredictable sorcery, bullying classmates, and a lecherous playboy. Ran, however, just wants to fly!
The art from Aki Irie is gorgeous! The world she creates is vibrant, abundant, and authentic. From the mess in Ran’s room to the rooftop garden to the festival crowds, it feels real. The larger format of Viz Signature is a great showcase! Highly Recommend!
