Forced comedy in a serious volume, can but still good
by Kastie -
I enjoy this series quite a bit and others have written superb reviews that detail the highlights, so I won't recap. For me, I found the sillier moments distracting. This volume is so serious that the shojo comedy moments detracted from the moment and pulled me out of the story. Yes, Fumi is cute with the cat, but when she lands and the cat states that she should land with her knees together, I had to look at that panel a few times to get it (duh). But, I was in the moment: Fumi's going to Q, get to him, save him, he needs you! So I wasn't expecting a humorous, juvenile quip. I tend to enjoy stories that are more serious than silly, but I do enjoy balanced rom-coms. Overall: some of the comedy in this volume feels too forced, but the story is emotional, informative, and important for character and story development, and the art is fantastic.
