Original tale with a comedic twist.

by -

Within the original series and Homura's capabilities I've always wondered why she never fully utilized her time traveling abilities beyond rewinding the month. This mini spin off series sets off to address that, with Homura taking Madoka from one of the failed timelines back with her to get their happy ending. While the concept is a great one to start with the overall plot leaves much more to be desired with everyone occasionally holding a "idiot ball" just to make sure the original series main events still occur.

I was expecting a more serious take on this spin to lead to something amazing, but the manga is leaning more towards a comedic take on the twist particularly on the cuter sides of Homura we never got to see in the original show. While the plot is lacking the artwork is amazing and surprisingly detailed, enough to make the cost of the book worthwhile if you ignore the lackluster plot.

If you are a Homura fan read this

At first, just from the cover, one would think it would be a comedic spinoff of the Madoka franchise and it certainly was going that direction in the beginning but as the story progresses we realize it slowly goes into the same mood as the original story, only with key plots points changing drastically.
