Spring is in the air, and that means love is sure to follow. Or at least, overpowered redhead A-ko really hopes it does! While out shopping for the perfect dress, A-ko gets into an argument with the normally carefree C-ko, who's more interested in having fun than having a boyfriend. When C-ko runs away, she's nearly hit by handsome hunk and motorcyclist Kei, who is in turn hit by a panicking A-ko rushing after her friend. Left with only a glass slipper earring to remember "her" by, when A-ko and Kei meet again at A-ko's part-time job, the passion of youth is sure to bloom! Or will it? Throw in conniving B-ko's plans to ruin anything good for A-ko, a whiny C-ko, and a whole mess of mecha, and you've got yourself a Cinderella Rhapsody! Greatly improved OVA and a great remaster again!

Discotek does another great job with their Project A-ko remasters! I'm rating this 5 stars for the quality of the remaster, packaging, and the included special features. I'd rate the OVA itself 4 stars. This second OVA is an improvement in terms of story, animation, soundtrack, and humor compared to the first OVA (Project A-ko 2). While it still pales by comparison to the original theatrical film, this OVA was a lot of fun and offers a more mature tone as our favorite anime girls struggle with their feelings toward each other and other love interests. The opening animation sequence is very high budget - reminiscent of "Presence" from Robot Carnival. While the ending lacks cohesion and a lot of gags were included that didn't advance the story in any meaningful way, the over-the-top nature of this series is why we love it!
