LOVE THIS MOVIE

by -

This is one of my favorite movies of all time. I own it three times over, from the Disney distribution, to the Collector's Edition, and now to this AMAZING steelbook. I like the pure simplicity of it, along with all the other Ghibli Steelbooks being released. It's a must have for anime and movie fans in general!

An All-Time Classic

by

Simply put, Princess Mononoke is the magnum opus of Ghibli studio releases. An epic tale following a young prince named Ashitaka, and his involvement in a struggle between the gods of a forest and the humans who consume its resources.

I've watched this film on various mediums ranging from DVD to the big screen to streaming and now this gorgeous steelbook release. It holds up extremely well and is a must-watch for any Ghibli or anime fan. I'd even go so far as suggesting that this be shared with anyone you know that enjoys a great story; it really is a timeless and beautiful story with excellent voice casting. Ghibli dubs are among the best in the business and they knocked it out of the park with this one.

The steelbook release is beautiful and looks absolutely gorgeous on display. A must-have for any Ghibli fan!

Best release for the movie to date!

by

The Ghibli steelbook sets from GKids has been on my to get list and Princess Mononoke steelbook hasn't disappointed. The metallic paint finish is really nice in person and I dig the minimalist covers with just an iconic picture representing the movie. Apparently the V/A quality on these GKids sets are slightly better than Disney’s previous release and they are no longer plagued by dubtitles too!

A Fantasy Masterpiece

by -

I rate this as my third most favorite Studio Ghibli film behind "Howl's Moving Castle" and "Spirited Away". Film contained some bloody and violent scenes which may be considered inappropriate for younger kids, so be aware of this.

Film featured great background landscapes, beautifully animated animals/creatures/Gods of the Forest, and centered on a warrior named Ashitaka who's caught between two factions...Princess Mononoke who fights to protect the Gods of the Forest vs the settlers of 'Iron Town' that take the resources of the forest. But also has a love story that forms between Ashitaka and Princess Mononoke that is very complicated, as they could be at odds against each other...which made this such a great movie.

Don't hesitate to add this steelbook to your collection!
