Prince Freya Manga Volume 1
About Prince Freya Manga Volume 1
Prince Freya manga volume 1 features story and art by Keiko Ishihara.
To save her kingdom, a simple village girl must live a royal lie.
The powerful kingdom of Sigurd has slowly been conquering all the lands that share its borders, and now it has turned its voracious attention to the small, resource-rich Tyr. Tyr cannot hope to match Sigurd in strength, so in order to survive, it must rely on the intelligence, skill and cunning of its prince and his loyal knights. But should their prince fall, so too shall Tyr…
Freya thinks of herself as a simple village girl, but her idyllic life is shattered when she is caught up in the aftermath of a treacherous Sigurdian plot. She bears a striking resemblance to her country’s beloved Prince Edvard, who lays dying from poison. Without its ruler, all of Tyr will quickly be engulfed by Sigurdian violence. Now Freya must take Prince Edvard’s place and lead his valiant knights in defending the realm!

An interested read!

So far I think the series is great! I can't wait to see the character development between the MCs and how the story will unfold as Freya carries out her duties "Prince Edvard."
A surprising quick favorite.

I have no idea why I slept on this series. It's actually good thus far! I certainly wasn't expecting what happened at the end of chapter one. For some reason, Prince Freya reminds me somewhat of Red River but I can't quite put my finger on why.
Wow

I was really surprised by what happens in chapter 1 of this manga. I didn't really expect much to happen especially in the first chapter of a shojo manga. It really caught me off guard to be honest. I recommend others to read Prince Freya especially for those who are interested in shojo manga with action in it. I can't wait to read volume 2 of this!
A lackluster start

Many aspects of the plot line seems forced and coincidental to make the story flow. For example, the main character, Freya, looking just like the prince of the kingdom she lives in (which apparently was news to her as well) or the sudden ability for Freya to perform in this new role without even knowing the prince or his personality. While some of these "coincidences" may evolve into much bigger plot twists in future volumes, I still feel the first volume lacked enough interesting detail to generate curiosity in the reader. However, if you have a tendency to enjoy stories with beautifully drawn men, a reverse-harem, and gender-role switches, this series might be worth picking up anyways.
It's Alright

A decent start, the heroine's personality is a little weak but that's understandable given it's the first volume.
